CHOKEPOINT's surreal atmosphere of a far gone future illustrated in a mesmerizing black-&-white palette showcases itself as an interesting piece of mind loaded science fiction. It reminded me of Under the Skin and Ubik.

If we could vote in this contest you would have had mine. The pose is the most unique out of all the entries I've seen so far. The mosiac posters (how did you do that) are instantly recognizable despite their small size. That being said what is the one in the middle suppose to be?
Thx man, the poster in the middle is actually a random B movie poster lol. Kinda ran out of idea near the end
Great pose to match her personality. Since Nintendo won't give her a proper game it's nice to see fans write their own stories.
Agreed, we need a good game with Daisy stompin' some goombas!
If you painted it cleaner or inked it more accurately it wouldn't feel right. The scrappy design and muted looking colours give it a lived in feel that meshes properly with the characters attitude. Cool cover.
Thanks! The "lived in" look was something I was trying to capture.
I'm assuming Wareframe has fishing as an activity.
Yup! It's a side activity in the open world sections of the game, and fish clipping through the ground and walls has been a long-standing bug. In the game there's also a spooky character called "The Man In The Wall" that kinda ties this joke together!
It's nice to see that your attempting more complex backgrounds. The environment and the foreground contrast exquisitely between the points in the landscape and the curves on the pumpkins. The shading on the whole piece is just remarkable, especially compared to your past illustrations where you just used two tones. I hope to illustrate as great as you one day.
Also, how long does it take you to complete a piece?
Thankyou so much. It honestly varies but for a piece like this, it took estimated 10+ hours?
The line art, coloring, and extra color detail takes quite a bit of time when combined together so sometimes I am even surprised at the length of something
It's a nice 80's manga look. The line work, color palette, and background showcase a really unique Misty. I especially adore the small ruffles and the diamond shape added to the top. Your backgrounds blend well with your characters because you usually draw them by themselves in a dynamic pose. They do not need to be complex.
Shadman has a video on youtube where he talks about his process if you're into his art. Just type Shadman drawing backgrounds on youtube. It is a talk not a play-by-play guide though.
Thankyou thankyouuu
The piece is reminiscent to Mike Mignola's (Hellboy, Baltimore) art style, especially with the alterations between heavy and light dark lines between the colored portions of the piece. Intricate details in the background such as the wood carving and the rough skin on the octopus really help the eldritch women stand out. Cool work.
I do love me some Mignola. Thank you!
You made a wicked look with this one compared to the original. Whatever brush you used you definitely made it your own especially with the background and folds in the dress. The only area that needs improvement is the back of the left hand. Instead of adding the minuscule spacing between the fingers you choose to hide it behind the cushion. This makes her left hand look like a foot instead.
This is still really good for what you consider a warm up.
Yeah I did not pay much attention to the left hand :D anyway I am glad you like it! :)
The backstory you wrote is wonderfully creative. The spider idea is creepy and conveyed symbiotically into the whole character (glassy spider eyes). It's definitely shocking to say the least. The only difference is that it does not look like an Overwatch character. It's more cartoon than videogame, and the only reason people will know its related to Overwatch is by reading the backstory. Overall this is not a problem because the whole concept is done in such a unique fashion. Awesome work!
Well thanks a lot! I'm super happy you enjoy the general theme of the character! (I, for once, enjoy it as well!)
Haha, about the Overwatch "likeliness", it wasn't really a concern. With friend, we just imagined stuff, it wasn't made to look like it could fit the Overwatch game itself. ;)
I love your stuff. Not your genitals, your work you creep.
